Executive Dashboard

Question

Does anyone know of a way, or is it possible,  to roll up a group of servers and / or switches that make up a system?

Our CIO would like a dashboard of all the Tier 1 applications in our company, but doesn't want too much info.

In other words, could I show him just a node icon that represents all the servers and dependent switches in our MS Exchange environment instead of listing all the servers and switches?  He could then drill down if he wanted more information.

Any help would be appreciated

I do believe this is what I am looking for.

In the mean time, I will try to work with the maps as the other replies are mentioning.

Hi,

I think in the interim you can create this functionality by creating a Map called MS Exchange and drag all those nodes onto the map that make up that service. If one of those goes down your exec could drill down and see that there is an issue with a specific component. This however will not give the intelligence as to whether the actual service is down unless you are using a well define APM monitor.

You can then create a view called exec view and create a structure which represents your various Tier 1 Applications which can be viewed at a glance. What this wont give you is the ability to report on the groups as a single object, hopefully coming in containers:-)

Until the functionality that Brandon is referencing is available you can probably use a map to accomplish this.  Just put all of your nodes in one map and have the upper level be the container that they are all in.
