SNMP Connection to Cisco UCS Server

All - New to Thwack. Hopefully this is an easy one.

Configuring SNMP connection to a Cisco UCS 220 server, running recently-upgraded CIMC version 4.0(4h). I would think this would be simple, but it's been fighting me. Wondering if someone could look at my config:

On Solar Winds Node:

View Type: Default

Polling Method: SNMP & ICMP

SNMP Version: SNMPv2C

SNMP Port: 161

Community String: Public

On CIMC Page: Admin > Communications > SNMP

SNMP Enabled

SNMP Port: 161

SNMP Access: Full

Access Community String: Public

Getting the following message from Solar Winds: "Unable to validate this node with the supplied SNMP credentials. Are you sure you want to update this node?"

Just don't understand what it doesn't work. I'm sure I'm overlooking something.

Hey there, what happens if you do an SNMP Walk to the device?

surak - Thanks for the info about the snmp walk - I wasn't aware of that utility.

So - the utility pulled all kinds of information from the node, and it was all correct. Thus, I have to believe this is configured correctly. However - when I click on the "test" button for node polling (Node Page > Management section > Edit Node > Polling Method), I get a "Test Failed" after it attempts validation.

This is a CIsco UCS Server configured with VMWare ESXi 6.5. Right now, the view type is set to "default", and there is no drop-down option for a Cisco UCS server. I changed it to ESXI Host - Summary, but I'm getting the error message: "Unable to validate this node with the supplied SNMP credentials. Are you sure you want to update this node with the current settings?"

Bewildered as to why SNMP walk connects with no problem, but Solar WInds invalidates the connection. It cannot both work and not work at the same time.

Thoughts?

Are you running the SNMPWALK from the Solarwinds server itself?

Hi don’t want to create new topic yet. We have 4x UCS 6332 domains all running version 4. Snmp v3 and v2 snmpwalk timesout after retrieving few OIDs. Was anyone successful in monitoring UCS FI version 4 over SNMP?
