Adding thwack forum to orion website.

I have added the module to show the last 25 posts from the thwack forums, but it will not connect to pull any posts. The problem is, we use a proxy server to get to the internet. the orion site is only checked internally, so my question is: how to i setup only the thwack forum section use use the proxy server? I have tried some steps posted in other threads but that makes the entire site use the proxy server.

ok try this out instead in the <appSettings> section. It has been tested on 9.1 SP3 and verified to work

It is possible to configure the Thwack resource to use a proxy. Edit the web.config file (Mine is located at c:\Inetpub\Solarwinds). In the <appSettings> section, add these lines:

Set the proxyAddress to whatever the address of their proxy is. If it’s on a port other than 80, set that too. If a username or password is needed, include those.

Note: In the future when you upgrade or apply a service pack and have to re-run the website portion of the config wizard will cause these options to be overwritten, so you will have to make the changes again.

after adding, this is what i get:

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Did you set these parameters in the existing AppSetting section or did you create your own section?

If you haven't already, backed out the changes to get you back running ok. I am working on getting a setup to test this scenario and will let you know when I have an update
