Remove or hide Alert/Reports drop down menu from views

I'm running NPM 12.0.1 and have a request to create an IPAM read-only view for users based on an AD group.

I've tried to lock this down as much as possible by changing permissions to either None or hidden, but despite this I still end up with users being able to review current Alerts and Reports. Selecting No for Show Alerts Menu or Reports Menu seems to do nothing, as the user is still able to see those menus:

Is there any way to remove those entirely and just have the user have a "My Dashboards" drop down? We want this as isolated as possible.

If you go into the user or group's account settings under Settings > Manage Accounts you can toggle these settings to no.

Oddly enough the drop down menus already show No, so I'm confused as to why this isn't working correctly.

We're seeing the exact same thing. I have confirmed that all of the "Alerts and Activity" menu options have been set to No and even removed both that at the Reports menu from the toolbar, but they are all still there. Were you able to figure anything out?

I opened a support case relating to this matter and was given the following response:

..."Our Developer was able to reproduce the issue as stated in your current version NPM 12.2. However, this issue is already fixed in the next version that is currently on development."...

I've got this the other way around, all drop down items are set to "Yes" but in my menubar the "Alert & Activity" tab shows only alerts, and the reports button is missing

Yesterday I upgraded to the latest versions of the SolarWinds modules, including the NPM 12.5 and Orion Platform 2019.2 HF2

The "Button hiding" problem is solved here. (Unfortunately, it is not more)
The settings in the Account Manager are now applied per user.

If you configure all fields to "no", no "Alerts & Activity" and / or "Reports" will be displayed in the menu bar

Unfortunately, this does not prevent the user from viewing the sub-URLs if he knows them:

/orion/netperfmon/events.aspx

/orion/netperfmon/orionmessages.aspx

/ui/orionlog/logviewer/now/1hours/0/syslog

/ui/orionlog/logviewer/now/1hours/0/traps

As an IT provider operating SolarWinds in a multi-tenant infrastructure and providing its customers with a management view on the SolarWinds dashboard, is this unacceptable and should be fixed quickly!

The same problem exists with other sub URLs, eg.

Environment - /Orion/AppStack/

Capacity Planning Reports - /ui/vim/capacity-planning/ - if you create reports for several customers, they will be visible to all

NetPath Services - /ui/netpath - if you implement netpath services for multiple customers, they will all be visible to everyone

Here you do not even have the opportunity to prevent access via the Account Manager and only the option of not displaying this button via Custom Menue Bars.

Anyone who knows https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com can pick the sub URLs and has access to information he should not see.

Sadly Orion isn't designed to be a multi-tenant system so I don't imagine they will be trying to resolve that anytime soon. You are correct in that any customer can use the URL to browse within the site to a different view, which is why Account Limitations and View Limitations are so important and try to be consistent across all your customers to ensure no data leakage.
