Problem with Orion polling

Question

Hi, does anyone experience problem with discontinuous graph in the System Manger.

Initially I regards it as a polling issue. But when  I reduce the node number to a few nodes only. The problem still exists.

Keep an eye on the processes using the CPU on your server.
Older versions of Orion had a problem with the LSASS process consuming the CPU & causing gaps in the graph (do a search in this forum for LSASS more details).

I have not seen this issue since V 7.6.

Have you checked the CPU usage on the polling/db server?

I had the database on a separate computer which was also running some other services, which - occasionaly - used up all CPU (100% usage), and graphs were broken exactly there.

When I moved the database on the same server with the polling engine - the problem dissapeared.

I did have a problem with this (8000+ elements on one server) but it all but went away after running the polls per second tuning utility.
