AIX Volume Size not matching what Solarwinds reports

If I run a df -Ig on a AIX server, some volumes do not match what Solarwinds reports. For example we have a volume called /dev/PRDarch which is 70G in size, however Solarwinds sees it as a 20G volume. Any help would be appreciated. Fortunaletly we are running fsmon on all AIX servers; however we would like to utilize Solarwinds exclusively.

Hi,

Orion polls the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB:hrStorageTable (1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3) to get the size of the disk monitored.

If you do a snmpwalk on this table, you will get the hrStorageAllocationUnits and hrStorageSize values.

Simply multiple both values with each other and you will get the size discovered by Orion.

If the mount point size is closer to 20G than 70G, you should check why the SNMP agent on the AIX server is returning such values.

Do not hesitate to share the results of the SNMPWalk.

Alternatively, if you know that the AIX SNMP agent provides a private MIB to monitor Disks space, you can create some UnDP to monitor them.
