Advanced Alerts for Enumerated custom pollers
FormerMember
Hi,
I'm evaluating the new version of Orion and having a problem in getting advanced alerts to work for a custom poller.
The custom poller is from the CISCO-STACK-MIB moduleStatus
MIB Value Type Value = RAW
Type = Enumeration
There are four possible values that can be returned 1,2,3,4. If I configure an alert that I know will be matched such as
'poller name equal to moduleStatus and status equals 2'
or even more basic than that '
poller name equal to moduleStatus'
then it doesn't fire even though the poller is assigned to an object.
If I change the MIB Type Value to RATE (adding the extra oid number for module number) for the custom poller then the advanced alert is triggered. Now I could just leave it set to rate however I lose the enumerated text output from the gui which make it pretty meaningless as it just displays a number.
Does anyone have any ideas or a trigger template for this type of custom poller they can export from there installation? I'm more than happy to believe its something I'm doing wrong so any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Phil
