HP proliant and Nortel switches problems
marbel
Hi,
I'm testing the demo version of Orion right now and I have come across one problem so far that I can't solve. When monitoring a HP Proliant DL560 server, I only see 2gb of RAM when there is 4. So sometimes I see the RAM util peek at 180%. Anyone had the same problem? Anyone know how to fix this? Not that it's a big problem but it just doesn't look nice.
Also, it is working pretty well with cisco equipment, but we also have a park of Nortel Passport. Is there a way to add additional mibs?
Thanks
Mart

The memory issue was discussed in an earlier post. See
www2.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp
. The problem was fixed in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.

Marbel,
The memory issue is a known MS Windows bug which is fixed in Win2k SP4.
See the following:
support.solarwinds.net/.../ProblemDetail.cfm
We are using Orion to monitor 9 Nortel Passport 8000's.
It works just fine - sees all the same resources on the Nortel switches as on our Cisco switches.

Are you able to see CPU and MEMORY stats as well?

Andrew,
OOps, my bad. The CPU & Memory stats are not visible,
but in speaking with Solarwinds support, they are working
on making a universal MIB upgradeable version of Orion.
