Limited access to a number of interfaces' metrics

Question

Hi,

I'd like to set up an user account that has restricted view to a set of interfaces' speed/traffic load with Orion 8.0.

I can configure the user account to limit to selected interfaces in the account manager, but that doesn't translate into the user GUI I'd expect.

What I like to see is when the limited user log in he/she can see all the permitted interfaces speed charts. Or at least the list of interfaces that he is allowed to see. Then the user can click the url to drill into detailed charts.

Would appreciate your comments.

Hi Fred,

Not sure who you would have spoken to at SolarWinds, but I believe the info they gave you was wrong. The PDF at this link does what I think you want to do. It is a SolarWinds PDF, and although all the screenshots in it are from V7 it should still work with V8

I did manage to get the interfaces listed under custom view with the help from support. It's also confirmed by Support that at this stage "there is no way to display charts for multiple interfaces on one webpage. The only close option they would have, is to put Overview in their menu bar, and then they can see the nodes and interfaces they have access to, then they simply click the interface they are wanting to see."

The video tutorial link gives a good step-by-step illustration about limited account but it is based on older version and does not work exactly the same on v8.
