I just deleted almost 90GB of files with a .stream extension located in the following spot:
C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Collector\StreamedResults
What are these files and how do I stop them from accumulating?
I had the same issue a few months ago and logged a call for it. These files are supposed to be self cleaning. At the time I was on version NPM 10.7 so I was told to either install Hot Fix 6 or upgrade to NPM 11.0.1. I choose the latter.
All was good for a few weeks when the issue started again. I logged another case and in this time they disabled the polling for multicast seeing I wasn't using it.
So if you're on version 10.7 still then either install hot fix 6 or upgrade to 11.0.1 (or higher). Or log a case with Solarwinds.
We have NPM 12.1 and still we face this issue. The stream file is utilizing more space and it is breaching the memory limit of our disk space. Can we delete them manually ? or any other solution for this ?It is supposed to be auto deleting I believe . Please clarify.
Please take a look at this following KB article that addresses how to manage this file although this not applicable anymore as of NPM 12

I just manually deleted the files at the time when I had the issue. If I was you, I would log a case for this as they should be self cleaning.
