Problem with set-up of Cirrus

I am trying to get cirrus working on a windows PC witch SQL express.

When I run the wizzard I am getting an error message after a have choosen the location for the database.

Error message:

Cannot create new database (ConfigurationManagement on <computername>\SQLEXPRESS)

Cannot update database structure from `ConfigMgmtEngine8.DBStructure'.

Error creating SQL database

etc, etc, etc

Does anyone have a solution?

Has there been a previous DB created and you are creating a new DB to use?

Are you creating a database on a different drive that Cirrus is on? Are you able to create an Access DB?

In performed a clean install of SQL express. It is on the same drive that Cirrus is on. I do not have Access installed.

If I create Access database all is work OK.....

First, ensure that the selected SQL Server is correct. If the SQL Server has an instance name, then this instance name must be included. For example, the MS SQL 2005 Express version that is available for download from our website has an instance name of SQLExpress. To select this SQL Server, the SQL Server name should look like (local)\SQLExpress. If the issue is still present, then the issue may be related to the SQL account not having sufficient rights to create the database. If you are using full SQL, then ensure you are entering the sa account details. If you are using MS SQL 2005 Express, then the steps below should resolve the issue:

Go to Administrative Tools > Services > SQL Server
Right-click on SQL Server
Select Properties > Log On
Within this window, select the "This Account" option.
Select an account that has local administrative rights.
Restart the service.
Try to reconnect Cirrus to the SQL Server.

I try CCM v3.5 with MS SQL server 20005 enterprise....

When I start Startup Wizard, and choosen destination folder,

I am getting an error message :

Cannot create new database (Cirrus on <ServerName>)

....

.....

If I use Access database all is OK.

I try this on many PC....

I am having the same issue with creating a new database. From the setup wizard, I try to create a new database and I put in the local server and a new database name. It tries to creat the database but then I get the error of Cannot create new database. I tried the above procedure of logging the SQL server service in with an administrative account but that doesn't work either. I've tried creating various ODBC DSN also to no avail. If I try connecting to an existing database, the DBs available are master, model, msdb, and tempdb. I'm assuming those are not to be altered as the appear to be part of the base installation of SQL 2005 express.
