Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Cisco WLSE Vs. Cirrus
FormerMember
We own a Cisco Wlse hardware device to manage our Cisco Access points, but we are looking into purchasing Cirrus. Our biggest question is how many devices should we allow for in Cirrus. (500 or 1000)
Is there anything that Cirrus does so well that we should have our Access Points in BOTH Cirrus & WLSE ? WLSE isn't going completely away.
Thanks again,
Doug

How many configuration devices do you have?
You can always upgrade in the future to a higher level. Plus with Cirrus you can apply policies and create your own now. This also will most if not all of your network configuration devices. Try the eval it is on the website worth a look

We're going to buy the Cirrus, but just not sure which size to buy.
We've got about 300 switches and routers, and currently about 100 Cisco Access points. (double that by the end of the year)
We're just not sure if it's worth it to buy the 1000 node version of Cirrus since we'll already have our APs in WLSE

I see what your saying on that. The actual worth is in the time saving it provides as well as reporting. the Cirrus 1000 is around 9500 with maint. I would say if you have nothing in place now to manage the routers & switches it is well worth it. Also if you are worried about the cost apply a 500 and divide it up this away you can work with it and prove the need. I am a huge fan on Cirrus I wish I had this tool a long time ago would of saved hours getting networks up and keeping them functioning. By the way when you buy solarwinds products if you do the shipping you get the cd and the written manual.
