Backuping Cisco WLCs with NCM

Hello all,

I got a fair amount of WLCs I'd like to backup with NCMs but I understand it's a bit trickier than regular IOS devices since the CLI command set need several inputs to trigger a successful upload of the configuration from the controller.

For instance, on a WLC5520, you need to proceed like this :

transfer upload filename config.aes

transfer upload serverip 10.0.0.1

transfer upload start

Then, the backup starts. What should edit in the template to make it works?

NCM 7.8, NPM 12.3

I believe in the gui of the wlc you should be able to setup config backup and or backup location.

but you might be thinking of something like this

1. Go to the 'Commands' tab and select 'Upload file'

2. Select file type 'Configuration', transfer mode 'TFTP'

3. Enter your laptop ip address , file path '/' and enter a unique file name

4. Select 'Upload' in the upper right and confirm the backup file is successfully backed up via your TFTP server

To recover on this wlc or a replacement, simply use the same process from the 'Download file' section

I was looking for a backup solution through NCM.
