Hi
I'm searching for a way of reporting or even comparing whether or not the IP address used to store a device in the NCM SQL database is actually the Lopopback0 address for that device.
We had a student in over the Summer who added a reasonable amount of devices to our Orion database (database totals at over 2000 devices) using interface addresses on the devices instead of the loopback0 address. Note: Our Orion database has been exported and is now the same database in Cirrus, we are not yet running the integration between them.
So far I can only think of 1 way in which to discover these devices without going through each device individually. Which is to run a network discovery in Orion on our network. The devices that have been added using interface addresses will be discovered using the loopback0 an duplicated in the database, we could then search for the duplicates, change the IP of the existing devices and just remove the newly discovered duplicate. As we are unsure of exactly how many devices were added in this fashion we are reluctant to attempt this as we are pretty close to the limits for our single polling engine.
So it would be great if we could find some way of creating a report in Cirrus that could do the comparison for us.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

I FOUND THE WAY TO DO THIS COMPLETELY OVER LOOKED AN OPTION IN THE TRIGGER ACTIONS WINDOW OF THE TRAP VIEWER.
