Removal of interface to stop it from reporting

When we created certain nodes, we sometime monitored interfaces on them. However, when we removed the connection from the port and now we are constantly getting notified that this port is down. In the past, in order to remove this interface from reporting being reported, we had to delete and re-add the node. This also removed the logging we had for this device so we could not monitor patterns in other interfaces.

My questions is, once a node is created, and interfaces are assigned to be monitored, is there a way to remove, or even add the interfaces, without completely removing the node?

atkinsd You can select all of the interfaces, edit, and then select the "Display interface as unplugged rather than down." After you save it, they should all clear, and you will not get alerts on them anymore. Or, if you no longer need them, you can select all of the interfaces, then delete them. If you delete the interfaces, though, you will delete any/all data collected for those interfaces. Also, you could simply "List Resources" on the node, and then uncheck the interfaces you no longer want to monitor. This will also delete historical data for those interfaces.

All of this is done on the "Manage Nodes" page.

Where would I find this option? I can find the interfaces in a few places.

You would go to Settings>Manage Nodes and then find the node that has the interface and click the + sign to expand the node and show the interfaces. If you want to delete the interface you would just check the box and then click the X on the top that says delete. If you want to do as wluther suggested and "Display as unplugged rather than down." You would click on the pencil above that stated Edit Properties which would open a new view. On that new page under the General section it will have the interface name. Directly under the box for the interface name is the check box that will then show the interface as unplugged rather than down.
