Hi All,
Just want one clarity. Kiwi Syslog server can receive the data from network devices, servers etc via syslog method right OR its different?
Yup
yaquaholic So any device type which is capable of sending syslog can be considered here, right?
And is there any concept of supported/non supported here?
Yes, syslog is pretty standardised. Cisco kit certainly works, as does most kit that say that it can send syslogs. Linux systems can use rsyslogd, to forward and for Windows servers we use the FREE Event Log Forwarder for Windows | SolarWinds.
There may be some exceptions, have a look at this page for manuals, release notes and plenty of training and tips on the product: Kiwi Syslog Server - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
sorry for responding late. Cool, i just had doubt on systems apart from Windows... Thanks for clarifying it.
In your opinion when should we prefer LEM, any idea? i am asking more in terms of sys logging.
