Hi All,
I've just started playing with IPAM and have noticed that DNS resolution doesn't seem to completely work when neighbor scanning is enabled. A manual nslookup of the IPs resolve... Any information is helpful.
Thanks,Pete
ccnpete,
Unfortunately, you are correct. We only resolve DNS for addresses which respond to ping. I have opened a case to modify the current behavior of this mechanism.
Thanks,
Mav
Hi Mav,
Thanks for the answer. Is there anyway for me to track the progress of this case?
I have an internal tracking number, but if you want to be kept up to date, just open a case with Support (reference this post) and they will give you a case number to track.
Hello, We just also loaded IPAM, and was wondering it's been running for a week, and half of my DNS server names are black, the IP is active, it's in DNS, I can do a ping, i also can do a nslookup, and it does come back with FQDN, is there something else that needs to be done, all all the active IP's will show the DNS Name?
Have requested the case number from support. This would be really nice to have.
