In IPAM, for individual address entries, some fields can be modified, others cannot. For example I can modify the Comment, MAC Address, Hostname fields. I cannot edit System Location, System Contact, etc. (yes I understand these are SNMP fields). I can import using a spreadsheet and populate them, but I can't seem to edit them directly.

On normal fields, it will be overwritten even though that option is selected. That's why it is recommended custom fields/Property. However, it seems those fields are considered like custom fields/Property… -
I found out how these entries can be edited. When you select an entry (check box) and click EDIT, the EDIT IP ADDRESS box pops up. If you change Scanning to Off , the SNMP Details fields then are unlocked… -
I no longer have a solarwinds environment so I can't verify that. In case you would want to open a ticket, it would also help putting in the version so Solarwinds you have.

I think I found the relevant KB article. I can confirm that I cannot edit the DHCP or SNMP settings. Importing from spreadsheet is another matter. The API may be able to update them too - But I have not validated that.
