Scheduling Maintenance Mode for Group

I have created a group of the servers that we run weekly maintenance on, I am curious if there is a way for me to set a weekly scheduled to put all the servers in this group into maintenance mode automatically and remove the maintenance mode after the scheduled maintenance is over. Is this something that is possible to do?

Thanks.

  • While a group is a collection of objects, such as nodes, the group is seen as a separate objects than the nodes.
As an example, you can create alerts specifically scoped to a group:

So muting the group itself, would only mute alerts specifically scope for the group like above. The child objects; nodes, applications, or whatever is actually contained within the group, do not inherit the suppression.

You would have to schedule the maintenance mode at the object level, which can be done through MX mode schedules, or you can automate this through the API with powershell.

  • Are there any instructions on API powershell commands, or is there a link to help with Solarwinds commands for powershell if we wanted to automate this?
