AppOptics cloud based on on-premises?

Amazing... I'm a reasonably seasoned IT professional, but I can't seem to find the answer to the question: does this product run on-prem or in the Cloud?  

From my reading I get the impression that AppOptics is a cloud-native (read: cloud-only) application that does not / cannot run as an extension or module to an on-premises Solarwinds installation.

Looks like I'm going to have to take the plunge and call Sales.  Not my favorite thing to do, talking to salespeople.  But my company asked me to research the capabilities of AppOptics and I need to find out for sure.

I had some side channel dialog with a couple of Solarwinds reps which cleared things up pretty well:

• AppOptics is part of the Solarwinds "Observability" suite.
• All of the Observability products run in the Cloud, not on premises
• Traditional on-prem Solarwinds is now called just 'Orion'
• Orion does not synchronize data with Observability
• However, there is a product called 'Hybrid Cloud Observability' which offers some benefits of on-prem Solarwinds with some features of Cloud SW.  HCO would be a logical 'next step' if we want to keep our on premises Solarwinds with some benefits of Observability (cloud)

Ok, next step is to research Hybrid Cloud Observability so I can discuss capabilities and requirements with leadership and lay out some kind of roadmap for the future.

Anyone in the community feel free to question or comment.  Cheers.
