Shoudl we Purchase the Orion VOIP Module

I just got informed by or software vendor that Orion VOIP module is being phased out and is being replaced by IP SLA Manager. However when I look on the website I cannot find any information on IP SLA Manager. Does anybody have any recomendations on what I should purchase?

We currently don't have a demo site available, and you may install the eval version on your product box and it will allow you to use it as a full SLX during the 30 day evaluation.

If you do not have write access to the routers, you can request operations be created manually for you by your network engineers and then monitor them using IP SLA Manager.

What you could do is ask our sales for an eval of Orion and IP SLA and install it on a separate box. This would let you play with IP SLA Manager without affecting your production servers.

The information you got is inaccurate. The VoIP module is being expanded to include several IP SLA operations that are not VoIP related, making it a much more powerful offering. VoIP monitoring is still included but it will be renamed to IP SLA Manager to better address the expanded functionality. See http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/ip_sla_monitoring/

what about the router itself. Is there any configuration need to be added?

If you're currently on VoIP 2.1 and upgrade to IP SLA, no additional configs are necessary. In addition, all of your existing VoIP operations will remain in tact.

Is there a way to monitor Voice Gateway's (number of active calls etc) 2800's 3800's .... yet?

I've been asked by my manager to do an eval of the VoIP module for Orion. It looks like the IP SLA Monitor module goes live at some point today. Do you know when it a 30 day eval for the IP SLA Monitor will be available for download?
