ESX service monitoring- via script or API

Question

Hi All,

We have a situation wherein ESX hosts are monitored fine via Vcenter account.. Now the customer wants to monitor some services of the individual hosts but the account which is being used cannot work for hosts separately since those are are hardened.... We tried to launch component monitor wizard and add the services but no help as account has no rights...

Is there any other way to fetch the services via script or API to monitor the Host services?

Just a guess, can't we use Linux/Unix script monitor component which uses SSH connection.

@yaquaholic  customer is not ready to enable SNMP since the number of hosts are more in count...

Have you tried SNMP monitoring the hosts, as well as via the VCC?
