IPAM Subnet/Supernet Groups and Orion Groups

Question

The question is relatively simple but I cannot find an answer.

I know you can you create a hierarchy of IPAM Groups and sub-groups using subnets/supernets, and add custom properties throughout those groups.

However, how would I use those custom properties to replicate or, at the very least closely resemble the structure in the Orion Groups?

First I thought some Orion (product agnostic) CP's existed but if they do I can't find them. Then I thought about using an Alert to read the IPAM CP's and update a Node CP in conjunction with groups that are based on Node CP's, but I'm not really sure what the best automated approach would be and if I need to get into the API/SDK for this.

Figured it out, if you set an alert trigger like so with whatever custom property you want:

That will take the ipam subnet groups custom property value where the ipaddress of the node is within the subnet group and apply the custom property from ipam to the node custom property.

Found another way to do it with the help of a great engineer.

As a custom property value he suggested doing it like so... and it works great!
