Event Monitor - Unmanaged Host

Running Storage Manager 5.x W2K8/64

How do I determine what the device is generating the error? And how do I fix it?

Severity - Critical

Generic Trap - 6

Specific Trap - 15

Trap Name - dnsServiceDown

Enterprise OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.10089.5

VarBindings - null

Suggestive Corrective Action - Verify DNS service is running on main (root) DNS servers....

(DNS is confirmed running on the NPM server which has the Storage Manager application running.)

With the exception of the HP EVA's. DNS is running on all servers being monitored.

Updated: Installed new STM update 5.1.2. And a day later the unmanaged host, vanished.

Even had Tech support on the line. Surprised...

Under the Edit icon for that particular trap, is the ip address in the Original Trap Source section? Or does it show 'Unmanaged Host' too?

No IP address shows up in the edit icon. Just unmanaged...
