Trying to upgrade 2023.1. The upgrade FAILS and pops this " Source file not found: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\InstallerObservability-2023.1.0.196-OrionInstaller1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."
What do I need to do??
Has the installer folder been moved or deleted? You will need to run the installation again if you can’t find the moved/deleted folder
Apparently, the folder is non-existent.
When I re-run the installation, it keeps on giving the same error
Are you rerunning the installation form the install file/iso rather than control panel
Yea. From the install file on the desktop
I experienced something similar when I attempted a repair install. I found that the "C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\" folder was there however my account didn't have the permissions to open it. After I let Windows grant the required permissions the installer was able to continue successfully.
SolarWinds does recommend that you install using the local administrator account (this should also avoid such UAC/elevated prompt/permissions issues)
There's also a known issue with the online installer for 2023.1 where it forgets to rename the cab files after the download which is probably what you're running into since they're technically not there under that filename. You'd have to either manually update the file names, or go to the service release or the current version (2023.1.1 or 2023.2 respectively) which the issue is resolved in for those versions.
