Things that other people would monitor.

Question

Hello everyone.

I have about 700 ish licences to play with and am looking at what else to monitor.  I was having a think and thought of the following in order of priority

- AD infrastructure

- SQL

- Any other customer impacting things.

- Other.

As I Have had very little help with the guidance from management, I thought of what I would find most important.  But I am still unsure of what would be systems critical, as technically everything is systems critical.

-Website responding/not

-Services on servers up/down or consuming too much cpu/memory

-With SQL I did a simple 'get name' for each database and set alerts based on if it responded yes/no and response time warning/critical then made a dashboard for it. It was a good red/green indication to if the DB's were up and responding or slow.

-SQL queries into other applications/monitoring tools. - I ran this against our mainframe job scheduler to get job success/fail/overdue onto a dashboard and alerts.
