How to get response time details using HTTP monitor in SAM.

Hi,

How to get response time details using the HTTP monitor in SAM.

SAM version we currently are using is 6.6.

As of now I am able to set the up/down status of the web URL.

I would like to view the actual response time details and the amount of data used.

If that is possible in current version of SAM.

If you just want to see the most recent response time, go to the detail page for your HTTP monitor. Find the "Application Details" widget, like this:

In the list of components, click on "HTTP Monitor" (if someone renamed the component, look for the one with a component type of "HTTP Monitor"). This will take you to the detail page for the component, where you can see the current response time at the top of the page, like this:

If you want to alert on the response time, you can create a Component alert. In your trigger, click on "Component Alerting Properties" and choose "Response Time" from the list of fields. If you want to show the response time in your alert email, etc., use the ${N=SwisEntity;M=ComponentAlert.ResponseTime} macro.

If you want to report on the response time, you can create a Component report. You can limit your report based on response time - in the report query, choose one of the Response Time database columns (there are several, including the most recent response time and a history of response times). If you just want to show the response time in your report, choose one of the columns in your report layout.

The out of the box http monitor shows response time already but it does not track the amount of data being fetched. You can track the data being sent overall with the appinsight for IIS monitor, but it wouldn't tell you the data being used by a specific user or request.
