Stackable Additional Poller

Question

Dear Experts,

I recently came through the option of stackable pollers, and bit confused with few information.

Requirement:

I need 2 APE for SAM monitoring and so planning to install 2 APE in a single VM using Stackable Poller option with High availability option

W.R.T I have below clarifications majorly on license part:

1) I am clear, I need 2 APE license on this case

2) For High availability, in normal case I need 2 HA license(i.e) I need to create HA POOL for each APE, But in Stackable poller scenario , do I need 2 HA license, even though same primary & secondary will be used, Also will both HA POOL will use same VIP.

3) In order to activate stackable pollers, Do we need to have any different license ,,like Stackable poller license ,in addition  to above,

I believe lot of improvements were done on platform 2018.2, expecting some information around this, aLTeReGo​ serena​

2) If you plan on protecting both the PPE server (Primary Polling Engine) and the stacked APE (Additional Polling Engine) server then you need a total of 2 HA licenses. The HA license is product agnostic. It will protect the server. Each pool will require a dedicated VIP.

3) All you need to do is add the license via the License Manager page and assign it to the same/existing APE server. Finally, once the APE server is licensed with two APE licenses, create an HA pool then license that pool.

If you stack a poller it’s just a license addition which increases the poller capacity you don’t get an extra poller to choose from, so you only need a single HA per server.

Thanks for your response nks7892​,Just to add Solarwinds have some guidelines for that only 2 pollers can be stacked for SAM (1 primary poller + 1 APE) or (2 APE), Only for NPM we can go until 4
