Need help with Advanced Alerts

Hello Everyone,

I need another set of eyes to look at this. I'm having a couple of problems. The first problem is with Advanced Alerts under triggers. I've included screen shots below. My expectation is that I receive alerts when a component is down and has one of the four custom properties and the node status is not equal to down. When I enabled the alert I received over 300 emails and most of them did not have one of the four custom properties. I'm not sure what's wrong with the logic below. Please help. The other problem is that I created an additional custom property to add the support group name and I built it under Application. I added the custom property into Triggered Action of the alert I'm having issues with. The email shows the variable name, but not the name from custom properties. Images below.

Prob #1:

I do similar things successfully. Try moving all trigger conditions into the first block.
Try something similar to this:

Hi,

Regd your 1st prob, I didn't understand why u want to included node down condition for a alerting on component down.

If you want to include that, then u can change the scope of the alert to second option and not all the objects option which you have selected. So in the first part of the condition u can include your condition of component is down and node is not equal to down. And in the actual trigger condition you can include the custom property part.

For the second prob I am not very sure but if I see the screenshot, u have given the name of custom property as Assignment_group and the same is visible in your SQL variable as well....

That logic worked.

My second problem was about applying a custom property to an email trigger action. I created an Application Custom Property called Assignment_Group and added that variable to the email. The email doesn't contain the value of the custom property. I think it's due to the Trigger Condition not using the Application condition first. If I do that then I lose my component information ie: Component name and component status

I think you need the condition to be

"Application Name" contains "Connect-Clarity"

"Application Name" is equal to "Connect-Clarity"

unless you have applications named

Application
Server
Storage
Database

as literal strings.

If you want to test for Application properties, you need to look for them and make an assignment:
