Resetting Alert if trigger condition is not true, but keep triggering after an hour if trigger condition is true

Hi,

for application down alert, I would like to be able to trigger alerting email every hour but if application is up, alert should reset and remove from the active alert.

At the moment I have set the reset alert condition up as following

but if the application comes back up, the alert will stay active until the hour is passed and wont automatically reset the alert, could you please suggest how should I configure the reset condition to achieve that ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi haroonh the correct way to achieve what you need is to set the Reset Condition to "Reset this alert when the trigger condition is no longer true (Recommended" this will ensure that when the Application is back up, that the alert is cleared and the system stops sending any down notifications.

At the Trigger Actions section, when you edit the Emai Action, there is a tab called "Execution Settings" and within there is a Tick box called "Repeat this action every X minutes until the alert is acknowledged". When you select that it gives you the option to select the amount of time to repeat the email in Minutes, Hours or Days.

So I have something similar I believe. We are monitoring ActiveMQ queue's. I want an email to go out at 6AM, but if the developers don't get to them right away, I want another email to go at 12 pm. However, the alerts are staying on my active alert page, hence it's not triggering the emails at 12 if the queue still has messages over my threshold. Am I missing a setting still?
