Not able to see all the WMI performace counters

I am currently evaluating the Orion Network Performance Monitor and the Application Performance Monitor. I am attempting to monitor my Exchange 2003 server using the Exchange Server 2000 and 2003 (APM 2.0) module and I am able to see most all of the components but I am not able to get the following components to work, they all give me a status of “Unknown” and with the following error “Invalid WMI query. No results were returned by the WQL query”.

Mailbox send queue

Mailbox Receive Queue

Public Send Queue

Public Received Queue

SMTP Local Queue

SMTP Remote Queue

SMTP Categorizer Queue

Average RPC Latency

Address List Queue Length

What would cause some WMI queries to work and others not to work?

Sometimes the WMI class we try to poll does not appear on the remote server, why...good question :-)

The steps in the below post usually solves most of the issues:

When you listed the WMI classes (Enum Classes button in the wbemtest.exe app.) did you see the following classes?

Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeIS_MSExchangeISMailbox

Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeIS_MSExchangeISPublic

Win32_PerfRawData_SMTPSVC_SMTPServer

Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeIS_MSExchangeIS

Win32_PerfRawData_MSExchangeAL_MSExchangeAL

If not, then that explains that APM could not poll them.
