Creating an alert based on quantity in a component

I'm just getting started with alerts. I've browsed the forum but I can't find what I'm trying to do. I'll be specific.

I have a SAM monitor - Microsoft Message Queuing Performance. In that monitor there is only 1 component I need to monitor - "Total messages in all queues"

What I want to do is create an alert with the following criteria-

Email me when there are more than 25 messages in the queue for more than 10 minutes.

The 2nd action I'd like is if this persists for more than 60 minutes to restart to services on the server.

The 2nd action isn't critical but would be good to have if possible - but right now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to I create an alert based on quantity inside a component?

You'll need to use the alert manager to create this Settings > All Settings > Manage Alerts

Add a new alert and then configure it to look something like this;

Thanks Gary - that seems to put me on the right track.

For the restart service - I'm confused as to this function. I don't currently monitor the windows services on this particular server. How do I get the restart service function to select any particular service to restart?

In that case you could just call a script to restart that specific service using sc or powershell
