Can you Install SolarWinds Agents on Windows without Orion Admin privileges?

Question

I'm trying to find a way to let my customers install the SolarWinds agent, without giving them Admin access to the Orion server.

During the agent installation, at the Orion Server Connection Details screen, it asks for a Username and Password with the description

Provide credentials for an account with Admin rights in Orion.

I thought that was the end of it, and I would have to do the agent installs myself.  But while researching, i saw the global agent deployment settings description showing the following:

Allow automatic agent registration

Select this option to register agents with the Orion server automatically when you use an Orion account without Administrator Rights to install agents. Registered agents can communicate with the Orion server.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong that I can't get this option to work.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.  I was aware of that option, and was testing, but my management was against mass deployment.  It is looking like that is the only alternative though.

You just download the agent using the mass deploy option and provide them both .msi and .mst that can be used with the following command msiexec.exe /i path\SolarWinds-Agent.msi TRANSFORMS=SolarWinds-Agent.mst . Just select the method and polling engine they should reach to before downloading in order to get the proper config on the machine.
