False negative on Generic Mail Server test with new anti-virus

We're using APM to monitor our Groupwise mail server. Everything was working great until the server got new anti-virus filtering. Alert emails didn't go out and we couldn't telnet to port 25 on the server from the Orion machine. Now that we've added exceptions for telnet and the Orion AlertingEngine.exe, that's working. Now we're seeing a problem where APM is reporting the SMTP service as being down when it's really not. What should we add exceptions for?
