So the issue with Java 8.144 continues with Notepad ++ 7.5. It shows as 'Not Applicable'. I found the applicability rules as having the 'NOT' statement in them. I am unable to rely on PM at this point and have had to resort to using PDQ Deploy. Can someone at SolarWinds look into this?
Hi Wayne, sorry to hear you're having issues. Looking into the packages for you to confirm if there's any issues with the applicability rules. Will get back to you shortly.
When will the new version of Google Chrome (Version 60.0.3112.113) be released?
Was this something you ever sorted? I'm would like to push out Version 7.3, but it isn't available, 7.1.2 is the last update I've synced for Chrome.
Hi David - can you confirm which product you are referring to?
Sorry, I also noticed I put Chrome on the end, but I did mean Google Earth. This might be why the version numbers make no sense.
We are using Patch Manager, to push out third party patches. Google Earth is listed as an option, and we have set it to sync, but I've had no updates since 7.1.2. Looking on the forum that was the only update I could find with regards to Google Earth updates.
PM sent David.
Will the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Classic catalog contain Acrobat Reader DC 17 soon? So far, I just see 15 available.
Will you be making Java 9 available for the coming month?
Can "Apple icloud" be added to added to the apple products supported ?

Any idea when the new SW Dameware client (12.0.5) will be available on PM? It has been available from the SW Portal since August.
Hi Wayne - DameWare MRC 12.0.5 has been added to the catalog. Apologies for the delay.
anyone know what was wrong with Java 8u151 that Oracle rushed to release 152 today?
I think they have always had a version xx1 and a version xx2 of Java. For example, 8u91 and 8u91. From my understanding the "1" release/version only has security/bug fixes, while the "2" release/version has new features. I'm not an expert in this by any stretch, but both 151 and 152 were released on the same day.

Has anyone pushed out the latest Java install yet? It's great the msi uninstall is now included as part of the package, as I was adding that manually every time. However on my test machines it hasn't actually uninstalled anything. That includes my machine where I have local admin rights, let alone standard users. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue, or if it worked fine?
Hi David - are you using one of the 'upgrade' packages? Can you confirm which version of Patch Manager you are running?
So far I have tried the 'x64 upgrade' and 'x86 for x64 upgrade' both with the same results. The new version installs but the old one remains. I did double check the msi number but they are correct.
We are running version 2.1.3.4028.
I tested the 'Upgrade' version and it did not remove the older version (8.144)
That will not be good if the old version does not get removed using the uninstall switch that has worked in the past. Please confirm this works.
Hi Wayne - can you please confirm which version of Patch Manager you are running?
Sure. I am running version 2.1.5.6002.
This is from the details of the Java packages. Both Upgrade and Stand Alone.
I am also running into the issue of not being able to uninstall older versions. I have followed the guide on how to uninstall. i am using PM 2.1.5.6002. Has anyone had success with this feature?
Also, I am trying to use SolarWinds PM to install Java with update notifications disabled and am not having luck. I have read online that it may be best to use group policy or other method to get this accomplished but what i have read is a bit dated so I am wondering if SolarWinds has since added an option to use an update package to install with this feature disabled for java. I imagine since it is using command line install, it shouldn't be too hard but none of the flags that I have tried have worked. Has anyone successfully accomplished this using PM?
Sorry to hear that folks are having issues with the Java uninstallation. I'm looking into the issue and will report back shortly.
It's worth noting that the upgrade package for JRE 8u151 states:
"This x86 JRE package is created for installing on an x64 target and it requires a previous JRE v.8 already be installed. This release contains security enhancements and bug fixes. Note: By default, upgrading to JRE 8u151 from an older version of JRE 8uXX will not remove the older version of 8uXX, however you can follow steps in https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Patch_Manager/How_to_uninstall_previous_Java_8_versions_using_Patch_Manager’ to automatically uninstall previous versions." I have tried following the guide and also trying a couple different variations but have not had success. That is why I was wondering if anyone has had any success with it.
I hadn't realized the uninstall commands weren't enabled already. I just saw them there and assumed they would work. I'll give it another try tomorrow and let you know how I get on.
I am going to test the Java 8.151 deployment with the added option of removing the old version. I will let you guys know how it goes tomorrow.
So I had a webex session with SolarWinds Rep Jaime Hynds earlier today and we solved my issue. Wanted to share and possibly save someone some time. when using the uninstall option with Pm version 2.1.5 make sure you have only the Uninstall { "Package ID"} option checked and not the Run below to uninstall Java 8uxxx option. having the latter checked will cause the uninstall to fail.
