Solarwinds Patch Manager check the updates in wsus or microsoft, to know what patches are missing from a pc

Patch Manager makes inquiries to wsus or microsoft to know if a patch is missing or not, because it usually happens that wsus does not manage to download all the updates and if PM takes the wsus information, PM would not be validating certain patches not downloaded.

Patch Manager does not make any inquiries as to patchs needed by any machines. This is all handled by the WSUS or Microsoft update point. Patch Manager will allow you to manage the approval of patches or to publish 3rd party patches to WSUS. Patches are only downloaded by WSUS if they are approved to a group. Though do note 3rd party packages will have already been downloaded since they are created and then uploaded to WSUS before approvals happen.
