I just recently purchased NTM to help with mapping my network. After installation I began digging into the application and found it to be woefully lacking as a network mapping tool. SolarWinds had a great opportunity to develop something really spectacular but dropped the ball. My biggest complaint is that NTM does not take advantage of the database information already gathered by NPM and NCM. Secondly the discovered devices in NTM rarely correctly identify the devices collected. Also, the label customization leaves something to be desired. My network is connected via a private cloud and because of that showing the interconnection of each site is complicated to diagram. Last, but not least I am disheartened that I still have to export my maps from NTM to Network Atlas to be able to use them in NPM. I hate to complain so much because I really like the other apps we use, NPM NCM VNQM and NNTA, but if NTM does not mature quickly we will not renew the license and be forced to look for another product.
