Meraki Orchestrator slows Solarwinds to a halt

Question

Has anyone else come across this issue, When you setup a link to Meraki Orchestrator and Solarwinds the system seems to grind to a halt?  When you look at the database Network I/O Waits are through the roof.  We have got pretty good network links at our data centres, so I was wondering what else it could be...

Could it be devices that are in the Meraki Portal which aren't operational causing the system to time out?

Any Tips or tricks advice would be great

Hard to say for sure, if you said just older versions or just WAPS that'd put it down to just old, stable features, because it included the new stuff as well I'm not sure how it works yet. If you've got a weird device in the Secure Applicance, or Switch space it's more likely that one.

There is a log but I'm not sure where.

If i have this issue when I upgrade in the next few days I'll come back

We were running 2023.1.1 but upgraded to 2023.3.0 (due to the CVEs linked with the old versions).  It is a mixture of Secure appliance, switches and WAPs we are looking to manage.  Could it be that we have got devices listed on our Meraki Portal that aren't operational?

Interesting, what version of solarwinds are you on? And what sort of devices do you have in meraki?
On my end i've had a few orchestrator's added for a while, since before there was any reference or orchestrators. In 2022.1 or something close to that there's some additional stuff polled, akin to "things bigger than APs". I've not made use of that newer feature yet but will do in the next few weeks. So far i've not experienced the fault you've mentioned.
