TEST function on Edit Properties page for testing polling engine

Question

When changing the "Polling Engine Assignment" on the Edit Properties page of a node, I then use the "TEST" function to verify connectivity.  My "Polling Method" is set to "Most Devices: SNMP and ICMP"

My question is: when the test returns a "Test Successful" message, what can I interpret that success to mean"

That means that the server where that polling engine is deployed can communicate with the device whether through ICMP or SNMP without any issues.
