We have over 150 syslog rules in our SolarWinds server. That's a lot of syslog rules to check, especially if we have to do this by viewing each one individually. Under the legacy Syslog Viewer, we could easily get a report from the Syslog Rules table that we could export into a CSV file. We tried to do the same under Log Viewer, but not having luck so far.
Under Log Viewer, the rule definitions are all contained inside the Rule Definitions column (inside the [dbo].[OrionLog_RuleProcessingDefinitions] table. We exported the contents of the Rule Definitions column but we simply cannot make sense of it. By the way, we already checked and noticed that there is no way to get a list of the rules using the either the legacy or the web-based Report Writer.
Has anyone figured out how to get a way to get the Rule Definitions in a way that can be read by humans? If so, I would very much appreciate if you'd share this with myself and our fellow Thwackers. Thanks!!!
