Hello,
We are monitoring Cisco 892FSP-K9, Cisco Catalyst 29xxStack , Cisco WS-C2960C-8tcS switches. Device Hardware showing undefined. Is solarwinds not support hardware monitoring for these devices?

Ok, So IOS upgrade on switches solved my problem.
There are two hardware monitors for Cisco boxes. You can set which one to use by default in Settings / Polling Settings and then near the bottom under "Hardwrare Health Polling" where it says "Preferred Cisco MIB".
You can set it for a node individually under "Edit Properties" for the node and "Hardware Health Polling"
Since those boxes are a bit older, you might need to try the other setting, the "ENVMON" MIB I think.
Tried but It's not working.
Check this thread: Node is Up. Overall Hardware Status (Node) 'Overall Hardware Status' has state: Unknown. .
Long story short - if all HW sensors are disabled in Manage Hardware Sensors for a device, then the behaviour you described results.
If all the HW sensors are disabled - enable one on a device and this should "fix" the erroneous status.
The referenced thread has my experience and resolution - hopefully your issue is the same as the "fix" is easy in the end
Hi,
How the sensors will be disabled if they are not polling at all? I am not able to see any sensor in disabled mode.
On these CISCO devices Hardware health sensor is discovering in List resources but showing unknown state after adding.
Thanks,
