Windows server in Orion Maps without SAM module?

Hi

just producing a number of maps (2019.4) and noticed that i have no option to add the windows server (agent installed). Is this a limitation of just having the NPM module installed and not SAM? the intention was just to have a repersentation of the windows server. So no need for reource being displayed etc.

Perfect. Forgot that I only added the Windows server as a NetPath Service probe. Added the node to be managed under manage agents and able to select the Windows Server in Maps.

Hi,

there is no limitation in NPM depending on SAM module installed or no. If you use agent based monitoring please assure you selected relevant resources on Windows servers. If you have network entities monitored via SNMP and Windows servers via agent then you may have to add servers manually and define connections manually on maps (for Orion Map feature). If you use Network Atlas maps then you have to produce manual connections anyway, I think..
