Change of behavior from Node Colors

Question

Hi All.

1. Thing 've got

I am looking for a way to change the Colorbehavior of those tiny status Icons like they are in the "All Nodes" field. How do i tell them to change the color for example to Yellow if the Node is UP, but a custom Poller triggers a Alert like "Exessive late collisions". Or a Alert for a APM is triggert.

Therefore it would be nice if there is a chance to tell Orion hey, not only show the Alert, change the Statuscolor of Nodes too.

And... if it is possible... is there a way to also do this with Icons on the Maps?

2. Thing

I grouped the "All Nodes" List with Level1 & Level2.

Now i've got a sorting like:

House1

- Room1

-> TV

-> Bed

- Room2

-> Bed

-> Fridge

If the Fridge of Room2 is down, my whole house will show up red. Even if everything else is fine. is there a way to change this? To tell him.. Hey, room2 is for guests. Do not show my house Down when there are Nodes Down in that room without filtering out down Nodes.

I hope you know what i mean ;-)

Hi Stefan,

1- I do not think this is possible as an Alert cannot change the field: StatusLED in the Nodes table for a specific node. Even if you customize an alert, the change will probably be overwritten by the NetPerfMon service.

2- You can change the top Icon status behavior in the web console settings.

Log in as an admin, click on Admin > Web Console Settings and edit the                              Status Rollup Mode.

Description:

When showing status for a collection of nodes on the node tree or on a map,
                            you can either show the worst status of the group (red if any of the nodes are down)
                            or you can show warning (yellow) if some nodes are down and some are up.
