Universal Devise Poller-- HP Temperature

What I am trying to do:

For my first custom poller I wanted to have the temp. of all my HP DL servers.. sounds simple

I found OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.4

What I want to know.. Is this the best one to use? There is some much to pick from.

Windows 2003 SD

I have used this OID as I have not found the info anywhere else. Unfortunately,the actual sensors are not identified (as far I have found), they are listed as 0.1, 0.2 and so forth. OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8.1.8 is listed as the Location string for the sensor, but all the HP servers I have do not support it !!!

I have found what the numbers are for an HP ProLiant DL580 G2 -

0.1 CPU1
0.2 CPU2
0.3 CPU3
0.4 CPU4
0.5 System Board 1
0.6 External Environment 1
0.7 Memory Module 1
0.8 System Internal Expansion Board 1
0.9 System Internal Expansion Baord 2

but have yet to find out what they are for HP ProLiant DL380 G4/5 and DL360 G4/G5.

Start with this OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.8 and build 3-4 UnDP for cpqHeTemperatureLocale, cpqHeTemperatureCelsius, cpqHeTemperatureCondition (Include cpqHeTemperatureThreshold if you'd like). Configure the location and condition pollers to 'Enumerate' (Click the '+' for Advanced Options to set this) so they will display the proper information. This 'should' be universal for most HP servers, your mileage may vary.

The only annoyance is the 'Label' column. Hopefully we will get some more flexibility on this in later versions. At least we can get the tables now.

You can then add this table to the Node Details for the status of all sensors on that node. (This was tested on a ProLiant DL380 G4, and a ProLiant DL385 G1)

(I did this one real quick, so please forgive any omissions)

Add only one the of pollers to a Node Details view.

Click 'Edit' on the Node Details page for this poller.

Check the box next to each of the other pollers that you want in the table. (Screenshot)

This will create the table for you.

Thank you! Last question, how did you get the status to report back as "OK" instead of a numeric value? I get a value of 2 when I poll for the status.

Expand the 'Show Advanced Options' by click the '+' on the UnDP.

Under 'Format', select 'Enumerate'.

Thanks guys for the help.. This is what I was looking for..

BUT

When I create my "table" in the details (table works).. but I still get the other 3 pollers under it.. they won't go away

Also I tried to "transform" Celsius to Fer. but that did not work

You should be able to click 'Edit' on the table from the details page and just check the boxes for the coulmns you want to see.

I am able to get the table.. but the poller still shows up on the page

So in a nut shell..

I created 3 pollers.. assigned them to 2 server (for testing).. Went and edited the first poller and created the table view, but the other 2 poller still show up on the page.. so it like I have double pollers.

I would send a screen shot, but figure out how to upload it

When you create a 'group' of UnDP's like this, you only need to add one of them to the details page. You then select the other pollers from the edit page, which you have done.
You need to edit this view from the Admin tab and remove the additional pollers from there.
