Problem with username format first.last

Question

Having an issue creating users with the firstname.lastname format.  Solarwinds appears to reject the . as a character in the username.  The problem is we are setting up for AD authentication and all of my usernames are in this format.

This is the error that we recieve.  "Please enter a different user name."

I am running on Orion V9 SP2 and for the record I have tried the creation with both the DOMAIN\USERNAME and just with USERNAME and I get the same result.

I'm sure I can't be the first one to try and do this but my search results came up empty in the forum.

Did you get a resolution to this?

I just ran into this. I added a user that we have in AD as firstname.lastname but it would not let them log in. I looked at the Login report I have for Orion and don't see the account listed which made me recall this Thwack post.
