I receive "The Interfaces MIB is not supported on 'Host'" when trying to list resources. If I have the wrong trap name it doesnt connect, nor when I stop the daemen it also errors out. That being said I have to assume its at least trying to connect.
Do I need to configure anything on the NetSNMP to get it to trap the host resources MIB?
Also, if there is already a HPUX SNMP daemon running do I need to do something with it? This is a HPUX 11.0 server.
Thanks in advance,
Paul Miller

Well, on the NetSNMP you would need to configure the community string the agent will respond to.
As for the HPUX SNMP daemon, you probably need to disable it. Two services cannot listen on the same UDP Port.

BK is correct. You must shutdown the native HP snmp in order to use the Net-Snmp agent.
Let me know how the Net-Snmp agent works for you. I currently use the Snmp-Research Agent in order to monitor with Orion, however I am not overly impressed with the hacked up Installation provided. For $600US each, I would expect to pop in the CD and go. Instead, I must consistently modify their scripts so things work.
What does Net-Snmp cost for a supported version? or are they freebies?
Thanks in advance

Net-snmp 5.09 works a treat and is free for both HP and SUN servers.. I use it to monitor CPU, Memory and disk plus NIC
No problems thus far
