Question

Can someone please explain this statement in NPM Administrator Guide: Installations of multiple Orion servers, including Orion NPM, Orion Application Performance Monitor (Orion APM), and Orion Network Configuration Manager (Orion NCM) using the same database are not supported.

I thought we were told we could use same instance for NPM, APM, and NCM so I am confused by this statement.

You are correct. If you have NPM installed with APM and NCM modules, all on the same server, you will use the same instance. It is possible to have multiple NPM servers, with associated modules, all using separate instances. It is not, however, currently possible to have multiple Orion servers, with installed modules, using the same instance. This last state is what is addressed in the note.
