Orion 8.1 custom reports and snmp on solaris 9

Question

Hi all need some help

1 trying to create date and time excluded reports on orion 8.1 report writer but cant find the date and time fields in the filter.

2, Cant seem go get snmp to respond on our solaris 9 sun servers change the snmpd.conf file but no luck

Any help would be great.

2. I know on Solaris systems if you change the snmpd.conf file you have to restart the service by /etc/rc3.d/S76snmpdx stop and then start. Another gotcha is that you can have only 5 hosts listed per managers keyword.

The date/time exclusions which are built in to the Report Writer will only be available for some report types. Depending on the type of report you may not see these options in the filter setup.

As for the solaris systems have you tried using NetSNMP as your SNMP deamon on thise systems? The normal recomendation is to run this SNMP agent since many UNIX and Linux systems default agents do not support the standard Mibs that Orion polls. If you do a search on the forums here you'll find numerous threads on this subject.
