Hide Blank Custom Properties

Question

Hi All,

I use various custom properties for servers, switches and routers (etc.) Obvisouly, some server properties do not pertain to switches and vice versa - likewise with router properties.

These properties might contain ILO/RSA IP addresses, specific locations, managed service agreement numbers etc.

I believe, (i think it was) in version 9.0 that if a custom property was blank it would not display in the WebConsole. I upgraded to Version 9.1 SP3 awhile back and I noticed now that all the properties, regardless if they're blank, appear in the webconsole.

So, the question is: how can I hide blank Custom Property fields from the webconsole. 9.0 did it, so maybe I'm missing an option in 9.1SP3?

Hi AndyC,

I upgraded to V9.5 (then SP2) and I've noticed that blank fileds no longer appear - only fields with populated data display. Because I noticed it when I moved to SP2 I can't tell you if it was 9.5 or the SP2 upgrade that did the trick.

Perhaps Solarwinds can verify?

But 9.5_SP2 works for me.

Hi PeteF,

I think I have the same issue, any blank / null customer property fields actually show as {Comments} (or whatever the field name is), I've had to put a "." in all the blank entries, guessing it's a bug!?!? Assume you've had no answer / feedback from SolarWinds?..
