I used to be able to monitor stack ports on my Nortel 470 stacks but somewhere along the line of upgrading NPM or 470 code this ability disappeared. Has anyone esle had this problem or know the answer to it?
NPM 10.1.1 SP1
Nortel 470 SW:v3.7.4.14
Did you double-check your SNMP settings? Could the new Nortel code have reset something?
I can see all switch ports except for the stack ports.
May be you can log into the database and pull up the interfaces table to see if the corresponding data is in for the Nortel470 device. And also did you rediscover the device to see if the issue got fixed?
The db contains no interface data for any stacking interfaces. This includes any Nortel switch we have. I did a rediscover previously and that didn't work.
Can you run a SNMP WALK to confirm if stack interfaces are showing up?If possible paste just the stack interface data along with mibs from the snmpwalk results. Also which version of NPM did you upgrade from and to?
Install this tool on the Orion server, this is a SNMP WALK browser and very simple to install. Here is the link.http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/PreRelease/SolarWindsSnmpWalk.zipThe application is easy to use and needs to fill in the following data Agent Address or DNS name: (IP address of the device)Port: 161 version2cRoot OID: (leave it blank)Requests: (leave it blank)Community: (enter the correct community string)The results will be saved to a Notepad automatically.
